PhD Student, University of Cambridge
Zakhar (Zak) Shumaylov is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, working with Professor Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb. Zak graduated with an MMath degree from the University of Cambridge, where he primarily focused on theoretical physics, and specifically on general relativity and cosmology.
He is interested in research in a wide variety of areas of applied mathematics, ranging from inverse problems & optimisation to theoretical inflationary cosmology & deep learning. His current research primarily focuses on the areas of geometric deep learning & physics informed machine learning as well as learned reconstruction techniques for inverse problems.
